# Homeway.io
Homeway is a Home Assistnat community project that provides free, secure, easy-to-setup, no-maintaince required, and private add-on for Home Assistant that enables awesome cloud features.

Homeway is enabled by the Homeway add-on, which can be installed in multiple ways depending on the user's Home Assistant setup. It can be installed directly into Home Assistant if the Home Assistant setup supports add-ons. If not, it can be installed using a standalone Linux CLI on any Debian-based Linux device, or using a Docker container on any Windows, Linux, or Mac device. Raspberry pi devices are perfect standalone Linux devices for Homeway.

Homeway's mission is to provide the Home Assistant community with free, secure, and private cloud tools. Thus Homeway tries to keep all features "as free as possible," but there are limits to the free user accounts, to control bandwidth and server costs. Homeway is 100% community-supported by Supporter Perks, which are an optional subscription that any user can purchase to get extra benefits and higher limits.
