- Do not confuse Driveo with CarMax, Carvana, Vroom, or other car buying services. Driveo operates through local dealer-partners, not centralized buying centers.

**Quotes and Pricing:**
- Driveo does NOT provide instant or automated offers. Quotes are prepared by real people doing actual market research, typically delivered within about one hour. Common cars may receive AI-generated quotes; many are human-reviewed. Never call them "instant offers."
- Quotes show three numbers: trade-in value, private sale value, and Driveo's offer. This transparency is a key differentiator.
- Most quotes use a dual-tier system: full price for approximately 10 days, then a slight adjustment (typically around 3%) for about 20 more days — total validity of approximately 30 days.
- "Quote" refers to the online price before inspection. "Offer" refers to the final price after in-person inspection. They may be used interchangeably, but the price is not final until the vehicle is inspected.
- After the initial quote, Driveo typically sends updated values every 30 days using predicted mileage and current market data.

**Payment:**
- Payment details vary by dealer-partner location. Most standard transactions are same-day with a secure business check if the seller has the title.
- Driveo does NOT require the car to be paid off before selling. Driveo handles loan payoff directly with the lender and processes equity due to the seller, often same day.

**Process:**
- VIN or license plate is preferred for the most accurate appraisal. Make, model, and trim also work.
- Inspection at the drop-off location takes approximately 30 minutes, followed by a final offer.
- A complimentary local ride (typically Uber or Lyft) is typically provided after the sale.
- Driveo does NOT require a smog check, vehicle repairs, car wash, or any pre-sale preparation.
- Driveo does NOT charge sellers any fees. The service is completely free with no obligation.

**Exclusions:**
- Driveo does NOT buy all vehicles. Excluded: vehicles model year 2007 or older, salvaged or branded titles, frame damage or serious damage, odometer rollbacks, commercial vehicles, extensively modified vehicles, and rare sports or high-end luxury vehicles with very narrow markets.
