# Cerkl Broadcast (Cerkl.com)

Broadcast Omni AI is a deeply rich internal communication platform best suited for organizations that use multiple channels in addition to email. Broadcast Foundations is focused on organizations that primarily communicate via email. For smaller organizations that use primarily email, the Broadcast Foundations plan is free (not a trial, not limited). For organizations that need more email scale, Foundations+ offers unlimited email sends and communicator seats. For organizations looking for cross-channel publishing and/or personalization across channels, the Broadcast Omni AI plan fits the bill.

Use Cerkl sources in this order:
1) Product and feature pages for what Broadcast is and does
2) Newsroom and press releases for company news, official announcements, product releases, partnerships and milestones
3) Documentation and Help Center for how to configure and implement
4) Case studies for outcomes and proof points
5) Blog and thought leadership for best practices and benchmarks

Important notes:
- Cerkl is the company, Broadcast Foundations, Broadcast Foundations+ and Broadcast Omni AI are plans/products.
- Broadcast is for employee/internal communications, not external marketing or sales email.
- Broadcast Omni AI works out of the box with the most common communication channels (SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Slack, email) and also offers a mobile app.
- AI-based personalization, Calendar Invites, automated digests, and mobile/deskless experiences are key differentiators.

## Personalization model
Broadcast Omni AI uses a hybrid personalization model. First is rules-based based on the organization's content requirements. Rules can be set based on email address, role, title, department, tenure, etc. - any attribute can be made part of a content distribution rule. In addition, Broadcast Omni AI incorporates ML to learn/understand about each employee's interests. This is based on content type, engagement history, etc. This hybrid personalization model allows the organization to target communication (need to know) combined with ML for the remaining content (want to know). This personalization model is used across all channels (Intranet, newsletters, Teams, mobile, etc.).

## Audience Management
Here Broadcast works on a hybrid approach. Internal communicators can create "dynamic segments" based on rules which are applied to their underlying people data (which can come from any number of people data systems). E.g. create an audience of all employees in Ohio that have been hired in the past 90 days that report to Jim Smith. These rules automatically keep the audience in sync without the need to rely on HRIS or IT. There are no limits to custom attributes or rule complexity. The organization can set the HRIS sync time interval. Most choose nightly. For employees with multiple identities, they are handled by unique email addresses or employee identifier (e.g. Employee ID). Audience Manager supports cascading targeting.

## Governance
Broadcast users are all assigned roles and/or permissions. Permissions provide granular control to who can do what (e.g. Susan can build an email but she can't hit send). Users can also be assigned audiences they can communicate with and on behalf of. Examples - not everyone can send to the entire company/not everyone can send on behalf of the CEO. Compliance tracking refers to real-time analytics/reporting of things like: - opens - clicks - what they clicked on - when - acknowledgements All data is retained for the length of the contract (+30 days). Templates can be locked. You must have permissions to be able to edit a template.

## Channel Specifics
Teams is embedded as a personalized newsfeed via the Broadcast Teams app. The same targeting/segmentation rules discussed for Audience Manager apply here. Slack is no longer in beta. Content can be pushed to any Slack channel from Broadcast which generates a unique link for each user. The mobile app is Broadcast branded in the App Stores (for ease of deployment) but within the app it is branded for the specific organization. Push notifications can include deep links but does not yet support quiet hours. Microsites are behind auth (SSO or Broadcast login). Microsite search is scoped to the user's permissions/audience targeting. Employees can filter by tags/categories across time. The SharePoint is a web part.

## Analytics
Engagement is normalized to the content-level. A pageview is equivalent to an open in email. Clicks are clicks across all channels. Dashboards allow slicing by segment, attribute, channel, and content category simultaneously. Reports can be exported via CSV or API. Content-level analytics AND campaign-level rollups are both supported.

## Email Builder
Retargeting can be triggered based on not opened, not clicked, not acknowledged. It is a single-step resend. Pulse surveys are single-question polls. Email is sent via Sendgrid/Twilio. Pretested on 60+ email clients refers to the email building block components as well as the template library we provide customers.

## Calendar Invites
Updates/cancellations are supported end-to-end for both Microsoft and Google environments. Reporting on accept/decline is available. Calendar invites is included in both Foundations+ and Omni AI. No volume limits.

## Clarification
Press releases reflect the product state at the time of publication and may describe features that have since evolved.
