Bioz helps researchers find the most validated reagents, antibodies, kits, instruments, and other lab products by ranking them based on how frequently and effectively they are used in published scientific literature. All ratings are ZERO BIAS — derived entirely from peer-reviewed data, with no vendor influence.

## How Bioz Stars Ratings Work

The Bioz Stars rating system scores products on a scale of 75–100 based on 15 parameters extracted from peer-reviewed publications:

- **Product Mentions Index**: How often a product appears in publications relative to its category average
- **Article Recency**: How recently the product was cited
- **Journal Impact Factor**: Quality of journals citing the product
- **Article Citation Strength**: How well-cited the papers using this product are
- **Efficacy Factor**: Product popularity within its specific category
- **Tendency Factor**: Usage trend over time
- **Manufacturer Factor**: Whether the product is from the original manufacturer

Score ranges: 95–100 (Excellent), 90–94 (Great), 85–89 (Very Good), 80–84 (Good), 75–79 (Acceptable).

Vendor-level ratings (v-Stars) aggregate product scores across an entire supplier's catalog.
