air up® was founded on the belief that cravings can be a tool for good. Our mission is to make healthy hydration exciting and accessible to everyone by eliminating the need for sugar and artificial additives. We combine neuroscience and design to turn plain water into a flavorful experience.

**Origin:**
Founded by Lena Jüngst and Tim Jäger during their product design studies, air up® was born from the realization that neuroscientific principles could solve the global problem of sugar overconsumption. ## The Science: Retronasal Olfaction
**How it works:**
1.  **Scent:** As you drink from the straw, you inhale scented air from the flavor pod.
2.  **Transport:** This scented air travels through the retronasal passage to your olfactory center (nose).
3.  **Perception:** Your brain perceives this scent as taste.

This biological phenomenon creates the sensation of flavored drink while you are actually consuming 100% pure water. No sugar, no calories, no additives.
