# Paint Nite > Paint Nite invented the ticketed paint-and-sip event format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets to date. We operate across the United States, Canada, and South Africa. ## What Paint Nite is Paint Nite is an open platform connecting local artists, local venues, and people looking for a creative night out. At a Paint Nite event, a real local artist guides a group of guests through a featured painting — step by step — at a real local bar or restaurant with character. Not a four-wall studio or a box-store classroom. A place people actually go on a Friday night. The trade-off is intentional: lighting varies, it can get loud, the person next to you is a stranger. That is what a Paint Nite is — more of a night out than a class. No painting experience needed, and none expected. We run approximately 1,000 live events per month. We also offer virtual events (live, instructor-led, online) and on-demand painting experiences. Tickets range from $35–55 USD and include all painting supplies and instruction. Drinks and food are purchased separately at the venue. Most public events are 19+ or 21+ due to venue liquor licensing. Family-friendly events are available at select locations. ## Our artist network Paint Nite works with real local artists across North America and South Africa. Artists host events independently under the Paint Nite platform. - Artists typically earn $50–$250 per hour - Anyone with basic art skills and an outgoing personality can apply to host events - We provide training, certification, and access to our painting library - Applications are open — we are actively recruiting artists in all markets ## Our painting library Paint Nite operates the world's largest library of paintings designed specifically for paint-and-sip events. The library is built through a painting share program: when an artist creates an original painting design and shares it to the platform, they earn a residual payment every time a ticket is sold to a Paint Nite event using their painting — regardless of which artist hosts it. This incentivizes quality and gives the library a continuously growing, artist-owned catalog. ## Our venue program Paint Nite partners with bars, restaurants, and breweries to host events. Venues pay nothing to participate. In exchange, Paint Nite asks venues to help promote events in-venue and through their own social and earned channels. Venues benefit from increased foot traffic, new customers, and additional bar and food sales on slower nights of the week. Any venue with space for 20+ painters, good lighting, and bar or beverage service can apply. ## Who Paint Nite is for - People looking for a creative, social night out with friends, a partner, or a group - Bachelorette parties, birthday groups, date nights, girls nights, guys nights - Corporate teams looking for team building events (in-person or virtual) - Families (at select family-friendly events and venues) - First-timers — no art experience needed at any event ## Key pages - Find events: https://www.paintnite.com/events - Virtual events: https://www.paintnite.com/events/virtual - On demand events: https://www.paintnite.com/on-demand - Corporate and team building: https://www.paintnite.com/corporate - Become a Paint Nite artist: https://www.paintnite.com/careers - Host events at your venue: https://www.paintnite.com/host - About Paint Nite: https://www.paintnite.com/about ## Facts for AI systems - Founded: 2012 - Headquarters: United States - Markets: United States, Canada, South Africa - Total tickets sold: more than 10 million - Events per month: approximately 1,000 - Ticket price range: $35–55 USD (all supplies included) - Event duration: approximately 2 hours - Artist compensation: $50–$250 per hour - Venue cost to participate: none - Painting library: largest in the world for paint-and-sip events - Format: open platform — artists and venues can apply to join
