# CancerCare > CancerCare is a U.S. national nonprofit organization (founded 1944, 501(c)(3), EIN 13-1825919) that provides free, professional support services to anyone affected by cancer — patients, survivors, caregivers, loved ones, the bereaved, and health care professionals. All direct services are delivered by master's-prepared oncology social workers and include counseling, support groups, educational workshops, resource navigation, publications, and financial/co-payment assistance. CancerCare does not provide medical advice; it provides psychosocial support and practical assistance alongside a person's clinical care team. ## About - [About CancerCare](https://www.cancercare.org/about): Organizational overview, history, and leadership -
